Opening Up
My primary artistic and devising experience lies in the world of applied theatre, working with personal stories to create original musicals, improvisational theatre and conceptual pieces. I specialize in ensemble work with urban and incarcerated adolescents and adults.
In my personal artistic practice, I am, but not limited to, a writer, performance artist and short film maker. I use my own life as subject matter, examining the importance of small moments, connections to family, and intricacies of relationships, as a way of developing an open dialogue with my circle of family and friends. I find myself on a constant journey of reinvention and obsessive self-reflection, unearthing my past and laying it bare in the present. Through my pieces, I endeavor to explore themes of release, authenticity, and multiple perspectives of the self.
